This is best done by Delwin or someone familiar with .htaccess. Documented here.
Create a news post as a “ghost page”. Only news stories can be posted to the home page slider so this allows the home page slide to be created.
Give the new story a title that will appear as the headline on the slide. Select the Home Page News category on the right side and Save as Draft.
Give the story a sentence that will appear in the News Storys as an excerpt of the post. This will only be seen on the News home page.
Add a home banner slide photo (size shown above) to the post. Add a Featured Image as well, for the News home page.
Requires a redirect in .htaccess file on the server. This file is available by FTP and there might be a WordPress plugin to access it as well. Exercise caution in any edits.
Add .htaccess rule to redirect from the ghost page to the proper file. Use the URL of the new post
After redirect is in place Publish the post. Immediately test to see if the redirect functions properly. There’s no (easy or possible?) way to have this redirect open in a new tab.
